In the Cellar
The Auld Hoose, on St Leonard's Street Edinburgh, is Newington's only alternative pub. It has an excellent reputation for traditional pub food, hand pulled craft ales endorsed by Camra, a selection of 24 single malt whiskies and an eclectic jukebox with an awesome selection of Metal, Punk, and Goth music. Situated equidistant between Bristo Square and Pollock halls, the Auld Hoose is a convenient meeting place for students and their societies with alternative tastes. From 5pm till 9.30pm on Mondays there is a 15% discount on food for everyone. Students are entitled to a 10% discount on food at all times. Quiz night is on Tuesdays from 8 until 10.30pm. Make sure you arrive in good time to claim a table. Cask Ales: Hobgoblin, Bitter & Twisted and Guest Ale Stowford Press and Addlestones Premium Cloudy Cider. We serve the largest bowl of Nachos in Edinburgh! The Auld Hoose also provides free Wi-Fi.
