Tell the landlord!
Registering an account is simple and they, more than anyone, will be able to instantly manage/update their beer range. And ensure you are never disappointed again.
Alternatively, use our "Recommend a Pub" function in the Pubs section on our website to, you guessed it, recommend a pub. For beers, why not Submit a New Beer on our Beer webpage or use the same function on the app, by checking in a 'Beer Not Displayed' and then tapping 'Help Perfect Pint'?
The Perfect Pint Beer Quality Assurance Unit is there to make sure such omissions are infrequent and short-lived.
Let us know!
Perfect Pint is a constant work in progress and we're always trying to make it better. We have a number of new features/improvements lined up but if you have your own ideas, please do get in touch!
The best way is to use the Contact Us page or, if you're so inclined, why not tweet us at @PerfectPintUK?
You can also suggest new features on our new feature suggestion page, which you can access by clicking on the floating bar to your right.
Beer Ambassadors are a special category of users who go beyond the 'call of duty' to help make Perfect Pint a great community for the beer drinker. For this purpose, we have created a new 'Beer Ambassador League', where users can win special prizes, outside of the regular Beer Bingo competition.
Currently, the only way to earn Ambassador points is to update pubs by checking in a 'Beer Not Displayed', tapping 'Help Perfect Pint' and then adding any missing beers. Simply search for the missing beer, take a snap of the pump clip and we'll update the pub based on your feedback. Every approved beer submission earns you 10 Ambassador points and a chance to win a prize! Over the course of the coming months, we will be adding new ways through which users can earn Ambassador points, so do keep tuned for updates.
Indeed you can!
When you're in the pub, check in as you would normally, however, on the 'Select Your Beer' page, select 'Beer Not Displayed'.
Check this beer in and you will see a slightly different 'Summary of Check-in' page from the usual one. On this page, tap on 'Help Perfect Pint'.
This will open up a new interface, where you can add and remove beers from the pub as well as submit new beers to the database.
To add a beer to the pub, tap on 'Search Beers to Add' and type in either the beer's name or the brewery. Tap search and choose the appropriate result. We ask users to add a picture of the pump clip of the beer, to speed up the submission process. Each beer added to a pub earns the user 10 Beer Ambassador points.
To remove a beer from the pub, simply tap 'Remove' and confirm.
If the beer you want to add is not in our database, scroll down to the bottom of the page and fill out the beer's details. We will then try to add it to the pub as soon as we can.
It usually takes a few minutes to process your update, but you should be able to check your beer in within 10-15 minutes of submitting.
Please note that some pubs do not allow user beer updates. If you are in such a pub, please speak to the landlord/landlady/manager about updating the beer seleciton.
The current iOS and Android apps were designed with smartphones in mind and, as such, their visual designs are, unfortunately, not compatible with the larger screens found on tablet devices. For tablets, we will need to create a new app.
Based on the demand we have witnessed, this is certainly something we will be looking into, however, for the time being our focus is on perfecting the existing phone apps. Once these are where we want them to be in terms of features, we will then look into expanding our availability.
Well, in that case, it is our pleasure to introduce you to landlord.perfectpint.mobi!
This is a special interface we have created to allow pubs to update their beers in a mobile-friendly format. It is accessible by typing the above address into any mobile phone browser and logging in using your usual login details. This mobile page has the same functionality for beer management as the website. The one difference is that you have to tap the separate 'Update Social Networks' button to send facebook and Twitter messages.
Please note that to make non-beer related changed to your account, you still need to login to the regular Perfect Pint website via a tablet device or a desktop computer.
If you should for any reason wish to view the full Perfect Pint website on your mobile phone, Android users can press their device 'Menu' button (usually located to the side of their phone's 'Home' button) and tap 'Request Desktop Version of Site'. Unfortunately, iOS devices lack this functionality at the present moment.
Beer History is a new tool for pubs, accessible by clicking on 'Beer History' on your My Account tab bar. It serves as an overview of all the beers you have had at your pub in the past: how you use this tool is entirely up to you!
Whenever a beer comes off on your Perfect Pint account, it will appear in your 'Pending' queue for review. Here you can amend the dates the beer was on, if appropriate. You can also enter how many barrels you ordered, whom you ordered from, how much you paid per barrel and your average wastage (per barrel). You can even write your own private notes, should you wish to.
At the end of the process, you can assign each beer a rating, based on how satisfied you have been with its 'performance'. If you particularly liked a beer, you can see similar beers you may consider procuring in the relevant section at the bottom. You can also 'favourite' a beer, in case you would like to save it for future consideration.
Once reviewed, you can see all the beers you have had previously in the 'Reviewed Beers' section. Here, you can order them by rating, brewery, price or you can search by dates, in case you can't remember that bestseller you had last Christmas.
The aim of the Beer History feature is to give you a clear and useful overview of how particular beers are doing and help you make well-informed purchasing decision. As always, we are open to feedback, so please do get in touch if you have any suggestions or comments! We will work to make the Beer History feature even better, however, the best way to make that happen is for you to let us know what you think would help you.
