The pub I'm in / beer I'm drinking are not on your app/website!

Tell the landlord!

Registering an account is simple and they, more than anyone, will be able to instantly manage/update their beer range. And ensure you are never disappointed again.

Alternatively, use our "Recommend a Pub" function in the Pubs section on our website to, you guessed it, recommend a pub. For beers, why not Submit a New Beer on our Beer webpage or use the same function on the app, by checking in a 'Beer Not Displayed' and then tapping 'Help Perfect Pint'?

The Perfect Pint Beer Quality Assurance Unit is there to make sure such omissions are infrequent and short-lived.

I think there's something you could do better / a feature you definitely should implement
Let us know!

Perfect Pint is a constant work in progress and we're always trying to make it better. We have a number of new features/improvements lined up but if you have your own ideas, please do get in touch!

The best way is to use the Contact Us page or, if you're so inclined, why not tweet us at @PerfectPintUK?
What is a Beer Ambassador and how do I become one?

Beer Ambassadors are a special category of users who go beyond the 'call of duty' to help make Perfect Pint a great community for the beer drinker. For this purpose, we have created a new 'Beer Ambassador League', where users can win special prizes, outside of the regular Beer Bingo competition.

Currently, the only way to earn Ambassador points is to update pubs by checking in a 'Beer Not Displayed', tapping 'Help Perfect Pint' and then adding any missing beers. Simply search for the missing beer, take a snap of the pump clip and we'll update the pub based on your feedback. Every approved beer submission earns you 10 Ambassador points and a chance to win a prize! Over the course of the coming months, we will be adding new ways through which users can earn Ambassador points, so do keep tuned for updates.

App-related Questions

I am unable to check in
1. On the Perfect Pint App, select the pub that you are in
2. Press the 'Check In' button to register your location (verified by GPS)
3. Select/Tap the Beer that you are drinking
4. Press the 'Check In' button to confirm the beer that you are drinking
5. Select the descriptions of your beer and who you are drinking with (including photo).
6. Rate your beer, perhaps leave tasting notes. Confirm.
Will your app be available on other platforms, such as Blackberry or Windows devices?
For the time being, our focus is on perfecting and developing the iOS and Android apps. Once that is done, however, we will look at the demand and feasibility for other platforms, so who knows? Perhaps one day you too will be able to stand alongside your beer-knowledgeable Android and iPhone friends and embarrass them with your stupendous knowledge of local beer!
Landlord/lady: I cannot log into the app.
Ah, unfortunately, pub accounts do not work on the app, for a variety of reasons. As it is, the app is aimed at drinkers and pubs are encouraged to use our mobile landlord.perfectpint.mobi page, which allows them to manage their beers.

We are preparing a series of upgrades for the mobile page, which should bring it closer to the website in terms of functionality.

Having said all that, this does not mean that we won't be creating a pub interface on the app at some point in the future, so do watch this space over the coming months!
When is the Android version of the app coming?
It is already out!

Do take a bit of time to let that sink in. After all, it has been quite a wait. We certainly hope it was worth it! Why don't you check us out on Google Play and let us know what you think?
I cannot download your app onto my tablet device!

The current iOS and Android apps were designed with smartphones in mind and, as such, their visual designs are, unfortunately, not compatible with the larger screens found on tablet devices. For tablets, we will need to create a new app.

Based on the demand we have witnessed, this is certainly something we will be looking into, however, for the time being our focus is on perfecting the existing phone apps. Once these are where we want them to be in terms of features, we will then look into expanding our availability.

Social Network Links

Landlord/lady: I cannot link my facebook account to Perfect Pint
The most common cause of this problem is that your pub may be set up as a facebook profile, rather than a facebook page. One way of telling them apart is that profiles are allowed to befriend other profiles, whilst pages are 'liked'.

Facebook like to keep profiles for individual people and pages for businesses and therefore do not allow apps/websites such as ours to link to profiles, seeing as these are intended for individuals, rather than the promotion of pubs. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about this.

You can, however, convert your profile into a page by following the steps details at http://www.facebook.com/help/175644189234902/. This page also explains facebook's profile/page policy in greater detail.
I have set up a link to facebook, however, it suddenly stopped working!
This issue tends to crop up every now and then, usually when facebook updates its system. What happens is that, even though a link was previously successfully established, due to the update, the mechanism of communication is broken.

To resolve the issue, you have to manually unlink Perfect Pint from your facebook page and then re-establish the link from the Perfect Pint website, as when you were setting up the link for the very first time.

To manually unlink Perfect Pint from facebook, log into the facebook account you use to administer your pub's facebook page. Click on the 'cogwheel' icon in the top right corner. On the drop-down menu, click on 'Account Settings'.

On the page that follows, click on 'Apps' in the menu bar on the left-hand side. You should now see a list of apps linked to your facebook pages and one of these will be Perfect Pint. Remove it by clicking the 'x' on the right-hand side. Confirm removal.

If you now return to your pub's profile on the Perfect Pint website and go to the 'Social Links' page, you should be able to link facebook again the same way you linked it the first time around. After completing these steps, the link should be re-established and working.

However, if you are still experiencing difficulties, please let us know and we will forward the issue on to our developers.

Who are you?
We're a small group of beer enthusiasts from all walks of life who, after one particularly inspired afternoon session at the pub, realised that something like Perfect Pint is sorely lacking in the world of the beer drinker. We all love real ale, but finding that pint you are currently craving or discovering new and exciting things to drink was often quite tricky. And so... Perfect Pint was born.

If you would like to know more, why not read our first blog post up in the blogs section?
Is Bernard single/available/ready for marriage?
We understand Bernard can make anyone swoon and many of us would feel honoured just to be able to take him for some food and beer matching.

Alas, Bernard is fully committed to his landlord duties, his blogging and trying to spread the word/taste of good beer. As such, he sadly does not have time for any romantic entanglements, unless they come in a pint glass.*

If you do want to let Bernard know how much you appreciate him, why not comment on his blog posts? He's sure to read them and it'll warm his beery heart to read such praise.

*Please do not show up at the Perfect Pint office dressed in a pint glass, hoping to meet Bernard.
